A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed. is the 16th episode of Tiger and Bunny 2.
Plot[]
The heroes hear on the TV news report that the affected NEXT's that went wild are being referred as X's and the cause is still unknown. Mr. Black goes to Fortress Tower with the girl he was meeting, Ruby. They see Mr. Legend statue and as Black doesn't know much about him, she explains that he was a great hero who helped create Hero TV and number of laws to ban discrimination against NEXTs.
He Is Thomas is getting an interview, but Carolina disregards his answers about fan gifts and letters as he throws them away and doesn't read them. The interviewer then asks him about his motto, but Carolina is again not happy as Thomas cites L. L. Audun's motto and he isn't a hero and is in prison. Thomas disagrees and believes Audun did what he had to do and for him, he is a hero.
Gregory finds new NEXT targets and turns them into Xs. Agnes then splits the heroes and dispatches them to different areas to deal with the Xs. Black and Ruby are in the building where one of the X go wild. He wants to evacuate her, but she stops him and asks him to save the elderly couple and their grand-kids first. Black then takes the kids and the woman and leads an evacuation while the Ruby remains with the old man as he is injured and unable to move. Tiger, Barnaby and Thomas arrive and Black sees them and requests help, explaining that the emergency stairs got blocked and he couldn't evacuate everyone. Thomas states he screwed up again, but Black doesn't care what he tells him as there are people in trouble and one of them is Thomas' sister. Thomas wonders why he was meeting his sister. He initially wanted to go after the X, but under Black's pressure, he goes to save the people, while the rest handle the X.
The rest of the heroes manage to capture their X targets and head towards Fortress Tower to assist Tiger and the rest. Black uses himself as a decoy and takes the X attention. Barnaby and Tiger then attempt to capture him, but feeling pain in his knee, Barnaby falls to the ground. Tiger tries handles the X until Barbany feels better, and they take the X out. Meanwhile, Thomas clears the debris, unblocking the staircase and allowing people to evacuate. He then sees Ruby, who hugs him. The heroes manage to save everyone without casualties, however many are injured. A crowd quickly gathers and starts protesting against NEXTs.
Agnes brings Ruby to Thomas and Black. She explains that when he heard about He is Thomas abilities, she was sure it was her brother. She tries sending some fan letters, but she didn't got a reply and that's why she decided to contact Black, who decided to help her and take her meet Thomas. Black explains he did it as he wanted to repay him. He explains to Ruby that after their comeback, Thomas wanted to develop an offense ability and while they were chasing a criminal, he asks Thomas to trust him and let him use it. However, Black failed sustaining the ability and ended up knocking Thomas, while the criminal escaped. Ruby tells Thomas that she is fine and he doesn't need to suffer anymore. Black starts crying, saying he knows how much Thomas was in pain as he is his buddy.
Barnaby sees the doctor for his knee and the doctor tells him to not use his ability. They don't know much at the moment, except that he starts to feel pain when he uses it.
Gregory meets with Sigourney Rosicky, who tells him that they are proceeding with Phase 2.
